Corporate social responsibility is anchored in our organization and our business processes. For example, we have been supporting the Signaal Sosial Foundation since 1998. This foundation is active on the Caribbean islands and contributes to improving the living conditions of people who need help. We also participate in different volunteering programs like Curadoet, St MaartenDoet, Clean Up days etc.
The Signaal Sosial Foundation pays special attention to the education and development of children. They motivate children to get an education from an early age. This gives them more opportunities and prevents the children from derailing later in their life. The Signaal Sosial Foundation provides educational materials to schools, after-school care and improves the accommodation of buildings. And because learning simply goes better with a full stomach, the foundation also ensures good nutrition.
The foundation was established in 1998 and only volunteers work who are committed to it. The board consists of chairman Eric Krul, deputy chairman and treasurer Wendell Bonafacio, secretary and Hennie Janssen and board members Natalie van Tol, Karin Dijkerman and Caresse Josefa.
